The new building, located in the municipality of Le Landeron (NE), replaces an earlier construction and comprises an underground car park, a pharmacy, and five apartments on the first and second floors. The property's particular narrowness and depth posed a number of constraints on the project: the building is 33 metres long and 8.80 metres deep. Building regulations required the top floor to be set back on the south, east and west sides, reducing the depth to just 5.7 metres and resulting in the interior spaces of the apartments being arranged sequentially. The relatively low building indices also resulted in the volume being 'sculpted' with the voids of the terraces and balconies.
